We are back after a long sabbatical while we focussed on bringing our daughter home from Bulgaria and helping her adjust to life outside an orphanage. We’ve been together almost six months and feel ready to dip our toes back into making mud kitchens again. With time came the ability to refocus and figure out how we could do better, make better, feel better with this little business for you and for us.
One big change you’ll notice is our decision to move away from working with repurposed lumber and instead using new high quality pressure treated pine. We have found it increasingly hard to find quality repurposed lumber that fits our needs – price and also the time sourcing and prepping it. New lumber means quality consistency, longevity assurance, and on our end the ability to streamline the building process and make a cleaner end product. We are still repurposing second hand sinks ツ and encourage the use of loose parts and secondhand supplies when outfitting your mud kitchen.
